Before you leave: what to bring
- The valid photo ID you registered with — the name must match exactly. This is the one item that can stop you at the door.
- Your registration confirmation, printed or on screen depending on the centre.
- A watch without connectivity, if your centre allows it. Phones are not permitted.
- Water in a transparent bottle, generally accepted. Avoid food during the session.
Confirm the exact address and the reporting time with your centre the day before. Rooms occasionally change, and the centre page is the only reliable source.

All four sections are taken on the same day. The two comprehension sections are multiple choice, the two production sections are marked by a human — which is also why only the latter can be re-marked afterwards.
The speaking test is face to face with an examiner: 3 tasks in 12 minutes, with preparation time on task 2 only.

Tips to stay calm on exam day
- Arrive early. Rushing costs more concentration than any revision gains.
- Accept losing an item. Audio plays once; hesitating on one question is how candidates lose the next two.
- Do the easy reading questions first. Nothing forces you to answer in order.
- Do not revise that morning. Nothing learned in the last hours will change your score, and it raises anxiety.
Results follow in about 15 business days, then the official attestation. See retaking the TCF Canada if the outcome falls short.

The TCF Canada is identical worldwide: same sections, same scoring, same NCLC conversion. Where you sit it changes nothing about how you prepare.
