No "pass" or "fail" — an NCLC level
This surprises most candidates. You cannot fail the TCF Canada, because it does not test whether you meet a standard — it measures where you stand. Every candidate receives a score on each of the four skills.
What decides your file is the threshold set by the programme you apply to. The same result can be more than enough for one stream and insufficient for another.

Notice that reading and listening use different bands. NCLC 7 starts at 453 in reading but at 458 in listening — a detail that changes the outcome for candidates sitting close to the line.
How many questions in each section?

All four sections are taken on the same day. Audio is played once only, in both the listening section and any audio used elsewhere — there is no replay.
How long is a TCF Canada result valid?
Two years, counted from the date the results are issued — not the date you sat the exam. The gap between the two is usually three to four weeks, and it works in your favour.
The validity cannot be extended under any circumstances. Your attestation must still be valid on the day you submit your application, not merely when you create your profile. See retaking the TCF Canada if you need a fresh result.

The TCF Canada is identical worldwide: same sections, same scoring, same NCLC conversion. Where you sit it changes nothing about how you prepare.
