Format and question types
39 multiple-choice questions of increasing difficulty, based on various texts: notices, articles, emails, administrative documents. You have 60 minutes, so budget roughly a minute and a half per question.
Reading strategy
- Read the question first, then scan the text for the answer.
- Don't get stuck: flag a hard question and come back later.
- Eliminate wrong options to improve your odds when unsure.
- Watch for detail traps: options that are true but don't answer the question.
How to read faster
Reading speed comes from vocabulary and practice. The more words you recognise instantly, the less you sub-vocalise. Practise skimming (overall meaning) and scanning (finding specific info) rather than reading linearly.
How to improve
- Read in French daily: news, articles on varied topics.
- Build thematic vocabulary (work, health, society, environment).
- Timed series at the official format to train pace and stamina.
